My favorite paragraph from my favorite book, ‘Notes to Myself’ gifted by my favorite friend, the book which made my journey from India to Boston a much better experience:
As I look back on my life, one of the most constant and powerful things I have experienced is the desire to be more than I am at the moment -an unwillingness to let my mind remain in the pettiness where it idles– a desire to increase the boundaries of myself –a desire to feel more, learn more, express more–a desire to grow, improve, purify, expand. I used to interpret this inner push as meaning that there was some one thing out there that I wanted to do or be or have. And I have spent too much of my life trying to find it. But now I know that this energy within me is seeking more than the mate or the profession or the religion, more even than pleasure or power or meaning. It is seeking more of me; or better , it is, thank God, releasing of me.

I think I am in love ..yes you heard it right, how can anyone not fall in love with it. I am talking about one of the best endevours of man to reach perfection till now: new iMacs
. If you want to take your breath away, visit my school’s Info Commons lab, all the old Mac machines are relpaced by brand new iMacs. I happened to visit the lab yesterday and was on cloud nine when got to use the new machines. Being a girl the very first experiment was a quick portfolio session using photo booth, the iSight camera is so beutifully integrated that I hardly noticed it initially, the quality of pictures is awesome (Immediately sent fresh snaps with lots of cool effects to parents ).

Yes this slim shape has a place for everything from power supply to high quality speakers. With 2 Ghz Intel core duo processor, it gives double computational power at the same time six hours of battery life. The performance is so sturdy that we selected all applications and opened them simultaneously and without getting unstable for a second all the applications opened beautifully.
The iDVD 6 feature can make the slide show of your pictures, look like a masterpiece. I watched the preview of Hollywood blockbusters from the Apple.com QuickTime movie trailer website and believe me the picture quality on media display was even better than the theater effect.

The mighty mouse has a scroll ball which can be used to Scroll up, scroll down, even scroll diagonally within a document without lifting a finger. And the list will go on and on, now I will be going home but promise to you my dear Mac that I will come daily to visit you and the next laptop I buy is definitely going to be a MacBook
That reminds me, recently I watched “The pirates of Silicon Valley“, a must watch movie for all my software buddies. The story is about the parallel journey of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. It was not at all a documentary as I had expected it to be, infact the movie has a good story, an exciting start and a nail biting climax

This blog is dedicated to my fun packed weekend at the very beautiful Niagara falls. It was one of the best trips in my life, in just three days we covered a lot of places and activities. The most adventurous part of the trip was white water rafting and the great whirlpool ride in river.

This picture is of Niagara falls flowing with Approximately 35 miles/hour (56.3 kilometers/hour) speed. We had taken a tour of maid of the mist boat, which took us in front of the American Falls and into the basin of the horseshoe falls for a thirty minute tour and caves of the wind,a unique view that helped us get up close and personal with the falls. After first acquiring a poncho and special foot wear to give us better traction on the wet walkways, we descended to the tunnels via an elevator. At one point on the tour, we were within a few feet of the water cascading onto the boulders at the base of the falls. It’s like walking into a hurricane, with the wind and mist from the falls trying to steal our cheap poncho and soak us. That was one of the best feelings I have experienced .

Rainbrow bridge, connecting the Cities of Niagara Falls, New York and Niagara Falls, Ontario, spanning the Niagara River. The peculiairity of this bridge is the sunlight on one side of the bridge castes a rainbow on Niagara river on the other side ;due to its shape !

We were lucky to view the Special display of fireworks on Memorial Day. The Falls literally lighted up in a rainbow of colours and I tried to capture every moment in my heart.

Making a web site never seemed as easy as with iWeb.You can create a complete website with podcasts, photos, and movies and get them online, fast. Just drag, drop, and design using your choice of web templates, then publish live to your .Mac account. You can use the iLife Media Browser to drag in your photos, movies, and podcasts, then simply type over the placeholder text on your page template.Using the iLife Media Browser, you can access all your iLife content photos, video, audio without leaving iWeb. Drag in the podcast or song you recorded or iPhoto album of your choice, your latest iMovie project. After all it just works

IEEE has an excellent facility of distance learning where some exclusive audio tutorials along with tests can be accessed. I have taken around 8 courses with them and found all of them pretty inclusive especially the linux administartion course . If you are already not a pro in these areas then its the best way to learn fundamentals along with few practical exercises which they provide on a virtual platform. Somehow I feel only reading tutorials never help me, I am a visual person and as IEEE’ audio visual tutorials use lots of visual aids and clickable icons on the tutorial pages, it become easy to visualize the topic.
